"Superb. Joe has it nailed on this one. Every bit as good as I would expect from the huge talent that is Joe Tatton." - Craig Charles BBC6 Music
Leeds soul and funk label ATA Records are proud to announce the release of Bang Bang Boogaloo by the Joe Tatton Trio. Available on 7" vinyl and Download from the 18th of March, this single is a storming slice of Latin influenced soul jazz.
"What a blinder!" - Snowboy
Laid on a foundation of driving bass and insistent percussion, the A side "Bang Bang Boogaloo" brings to mind the latin tinged soul jazz of Ramsey Lewis, Young Holt & Eddie Cano.Featuring driving unison figures from bass and piano laid over Congas and Timbales, this is a classic soul-jazz boogaloo aimed squarley at the more discerning dancefloor.
The B-side "Sunday Shade" is an altogether more laid-back affair, with the percussion of the A-side replaced by cool Grant Greenesque guitar and soft brass laid on a mid-tempo groove from bass and drums.
Grooves recorded and played the way they should be. killer! - Bill Laurence, Snarky Puppy
